My head was hurting already

But someone else's has been too. Fellow Green Lantern fans, here's a question for you:

Why is Hal Jordan always getting hit in the head with stuff??

He was jaundiced as a wee lad. The resulting faint yellow tinge to his skin leaves his head slightly unprotected.

A Green Lantern ring responds to the wearer’s imagination and will. It’s vitally important to keep anyone with that kind of power addled, or they’d clean up all the problems in the universe other than massive superhero unemployment. (The Oans only claim the requirement is being without fear. The actual requirement is never having taken a lower division physics class.)

He's not the only one!
Think of Sam Spade and most other "gumshoe" detectives. I'm surprised they didn't start waring helmets after the oh 10th time or so!

I recall having similar thoughts while watching the Lord of the Rings movies. I recollect Aragorn ending up unconscious at least once per film, one such instance being the result of an event that makes me quote Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid every time I see it ("I can't swim!" "Are you crazy? The fall will probably kill you!").

I do not just now remember whether he gets knocked on the head quite that often in Tolkien's novel, though I suspect not. OTOH, novel!Aragorn probably sensibly wore a helmet.

Oi. For the first couple of years of post-Crisis, hitting Guy Gardner in the head would activate his Captain Marvel-esque personality. You're fortunate to have repressed it.

I think that this slideshow puts Zero Hour in a whole new light. Obviously, Hal was eager to destroy the universe and rewrite the laws of physics to cut back on the brain damage.

Riddle me this: why couldn't they have resurrected Earth-D as one of the 52? For that matter, wouldn't Earth-D have been Alex' "perfect Earth" in the first place?

It's even worse now. Before, they could hit him in the head or hit him with yellow; now yellow is a minor inconvenience. It's headshots all the way down.
